My second Chemo session

Updated: Jun 10, 2022

My 2nd Chemo treatment was scheduled for April 4, but it didn't happen. This didn't really bother me, I was still having a few side effects from the first session.

My session was rescheduled because my Oncologist noticed a slit in my operation incision that had opened up about 2". He refused to let me do my session and sent me back to the surgeon to patch me up.

My session was rescheduled for the following Monday.

I went to my session the following week and it went like the first session. I felt good afterwards so we went to Marie Callender's, I wanted some of their potato cheese soup and cornbread.

I went to bed that night cautiously waiting for the side effects to kick in. I woke up in the morning feeling okay, but then after about an hour, I went back to bed for a nap. I woke up on Easter Sunday.

I think all of the sleeping I did may have decreased the intensity of the side effects.

I was feeling pretty good the next day, I decided to install a dishwasher I found on craigslist a week earlier to replace the one we had with a blown out control panel. I spent 3 days installing it, should have taken only about and hour or two. I'm getting way too old to be crawling under the kitchen sink. But now it's in and works great!

The next day, I'm knocked out flat by the side effects again. They are so unpredictable, I have no idea what to expect or when. I had all of the side effects and I think I came up with a few new ones. This is insane.

My Oncologist prescribed another nausea medication, that makes 3 total. If only any of them actually worked.

Easter came and went quietly, I slept most of the day. John made another big pot of mashed potatoes for me, they were so good.
